This very cool 1963 car belongs to a buddy of me, and is currently getting new brakes in my “T3-cabbanna”. This pic is taken near Lyon, were they had a short break while driving the car back from Milano, witch is a very faaaashionable city (isn’t it Ricardo?). The car is a 1963 1500N model, that has very little kilometers on the speedo! You can even see origianal crayon-markings in the innerwings that were put on in the factory and lasted more than 40 years! It is a birchengrun car, with all the specific bits present of the pre-1964 series type three.

sunburn
sunburned Ruby Red Type three variant S. California Sun is hard on the paint ! The letters are really small, but i think i can read “Utrecht” on the dealer sticker, meaning this car, now residing in a volkswagen car park in California started his life in the Netherlands, in Europe, and was exported to the good ol’ USofA
SOLEX 32 PDSIT 2/3
a set of brand-spanking new, in tha box, solex 32 PDSIT 2/3 Would you resist ? these carbs are specific to the 1500S model, from production years 1964 and 1965 (from august 1963 till august 1965) These carbs, together with the domed pistons for higher compression, make this S-engine put out a hefty 55HP.
CORVAIR 3.2 L engine !
On that particular “bugjam 2000” Emmerson Basseile brought out his CORVAIR (aircooled 32.2L flat6) powered Type three fastback TL (1970). At that time the engine sported a set of Weber 48IDAs, however later on I delivered Emmerson a set of supersexy Weber 46IDA3C (not dual, but triplebody carbs) that originated from a very exotic Porsche race engine (also aircooled flat six, hence the compatibility). The car is a tranny eater. Too mucho power !
