Here you see the team Thenaers Gaban, driving car 315, coming in for some fuel !

Thenaers (see post below), a gentlemen racing driver, had already driven some GPs with several cars, one of them being a Porsche 550. (picture taken in 1959)

This picture is taken on one of the first “24hrs of Spa Francorchamps” in 1964, racing for touring cars. The drivers had to run to the cars, start them, and leave the pits. Like it was before in Le Mans. In this edition, Volkswagen participated with four 1500S cars. Find the T3s in the picture that is kinda foggy of the exhaust fumes … and check out the people, that are standing almost on the racing grid …

As used on CANADIAN – spec 1500 S cars. they were equipped with Canadian market-specific equipment such as sealed-beam headlights etc… etc…
pretty rare on this side of the ocean…

What can i say ? What a georgeous picture ! I found it in the T3 picture gallery on the samba and i was immediatly hooked on it ! However the pre-64 cars do have lack of the enourmeous supplementary horsepower that the 1500 S cars have, i must admit that i REALLY like an early dash ! Look at those sexy red needles !
In front of the early car we see another early car, in the color:
L 469 anthracite (a 1962 only color)
