the no bumper look for my baywindow, in order to get a towhitch, i had to get rid of my bumper … it’s coming back tough … now i noticed the original bumper color was BLACK, and not white … i do hesitate to get them black tough … i got quite fond of these white bumpers …
okay, i just started wrenching again, getting everything apart is one of my favorites, finishing immediatly is sometimes harder 🙂 anyway, i started yesterday replacing a blown exhaust gasket. really hate that job. when i was totally done, (did this job allready a million times) i went to have a drive, i tought so … because a head gasket decides to leave also … back to the garage and because of wrath against murphy, i decided to do this today, after a good night of sleep …

something that is as amusing as old volkswagen magazines, are these old playboy magazines, i just got hold of a complete year, and this is the month when i was born: march 1974. it breaths nostalgia, publicity for Lee and Wrangler is fabulous, 8tracks were the hot thing, every car publicity talks about many miles to the gallon their car can do ( without a doubt because of the oil crisis 1974 … history returns ), and there was a publicity for picking up your volkswagen in germany… oh, and nudity ? yeahhh … one girl somewhere hidden in the mag, showing of some pubes and tits, but nothing harmless. i even wouldn’t consider this a nudie mag at this moment in time …

friday i drove about 700km to get this westfalia bremen, from 1957. watch this space … it’s gonna be a publicity slut this one ! too bad i could not hang around a little bit longer in the mosel region … it was like holiday over there … see the wine – grapes getting all the sun they can get on the slopes behind the car ? … hmmmm
we took the car for a spin sunday, and “found” this castle, dating from centuries ago, we met the guy living in the castle and it seemed he was a customer in our perfumery shop (he tought i was driving a brasilia -huh- you know a brasilia ?). it was way to hot to drive around in a black car however, and we got home a little bit earlier to enjoy the sun in our lazy seats…
