it was soon time for a nice glass of wine in the most nortern wine chateau in europe, the “genoels-elderen” chateau …

 

after tasting the wine…

and checking trees that are good for our “POTENZA”

it was too soon time to leave for home with a pile of wine… luckily, a type three has two extra trunks, front and rear …

and soon had them bite in the dust on twisty and gravel roads …

 

we started chasing the 356 gang …

it was ok a few minutes later … thanx to a never stopping to phone co-pilot …

and hop, we’re off to the 356 meet in maasmechelen … now we only wonder what would be the most cunning plan to find our driving directions…

I guess Raquel is also in type threes ! here is a picture of Raquel 15 years ago ! time flies by ! Danny bought this one owner fastback many moons ago !

Peter Schepens, the owner of a very nice zelensis, found me these type three related pictures. they show a type three in brussels with illuminated tires from GOODYEAR. (i hope they don’t explode). this high-tec from around 1961 sported clear rubber and lightbulbs screwed to the actual steel wheel…

they were in the dutch version “goede reis” of the french magazine “bonne route”
