there weren’t that much 356 cars as last year, but they were there … nice 356 B C and SC cars defending the stuttgard colors, btw, it was nice talking to bruno from 356 division club !

and yes, food and drinks ARE important after driving for about 4hours …

before leaving for the http://www.trajectoire.be/ingAB/FR/accueil.php rally, i had quite a few headaches and worries about my car. i replaced about anything that was possible to get rid of a problem that only accurs when driving at “not full speed” … without any luck.

anyway, on arrival we received some nice presents and goodies from the organisation, along with a nice pair of warm polo vests (will not discuss about the color however), and socialising began … untill deep in the night.

the cars were standing outside of our lovely sas radisson hotel in spa, and were waiting patiently for dawn to rev the sh”#”t out of their engines. a fiat V8 (pronounce “ottovu”) driven by mr D’ieteren had a real soft spot in my heart, i told him i drove a 15OOS and was quite interested, because his first car was one, and gave me all the descriptions about the options, colors and interiors. he knew what he was talking !

first day ended quite well, and we stood at 21st place (8th in class) after the two saturday heats.

sunday was expected to be calm, however, we should have known … our daytrip speedo wasn’t up to the 50metres changes in directions, and we lost quite some points on CHs and RTs on sunday, but hey, that’s sports … we finalised a 12th place in class and 27th overall. not too bad tough, for a small car 😉

heyyya ! just had some very good news from my buddy JC … the engine runs !!! he (and myself) is quite over the moon that the engine is still in working order, … after this horrific crash. keep up the good work, and i am sure that the ponies of this engine will soon find a new place in the rear of a beetle ! 

I’ll be off for another rally on april 20 till april 22. i hope to see some nice cars around, last year my favorite was the italian “ottovu” fiat V8 that carried away all my respect, respect to the D’Ieteren family driving this car in the ardenne bleu !
