What the f*ck have Fiats in common with Type 3s ? Well, first of all, these are Abarths ! Type threes have not much (or nothing, i hope) in common with Fiats, but Abarth made a very sexy “auspuff” for the VW1500S. they were the ultimate tuning stuff in the sixties. Even my dad knew this abarth when i was telling him about the Abarth i have now in my garage… and yes, i will show you a pic of it later…

And this is how the VW 1500 was introduced in 1961 in Frankfurt. you can clearly see a Squareback, a Notchback and a Cabriolet. yep, the infamous cabriolet type three. only a hand full of these were made, as prototypes.( and some of them even do still exist!) everything was okay to launch the cabriolet, folders, brochures, pictures, etc… and then, suddenly, they decided not to do it. Off course all these models are not S models, but they are referred to as N models.

Even Rachie, my wife’s dog, likes the immaculate brown interior of my pearlwhite 1500S ! and i can promise you, and this is not a treath, that when the dog is in the car, and you would go in the car without me, you won’t come out alive !
