this picture was taken in the summer of 2001. I just had bought the T3, and while over at the belgian coast, i managed to convince my wife for a drive into france to the meeting in a small town near the french costal line, named Audruicq. Alltough the weather was not so good, i won the price for best type three, and i won a gift certificate from the french shop ” Volksdiffusion ” I managed to buy an autometer oil temperature and oil pressure gauge for my 2007cc beetle with that certificate !

Thenaers (see post below), a gentlemen racing driver, had already driven some GPs with several cars, one of them being a Porsche 550. (picture taken in 1959)

This picture is taken on one of the first “24hrs of Spa Francorchamps” in 1964, racing for touring cars. The drivers had to run to the cars, start them, and leave the pits. Like it was before in Le Mans. In this edition, Volkswagen participated with four 1500S cars. Find the T3s in the picture that is kinda foggy of the exhaust fumes … and check out the people, that are standing almost on the racing grid …
