we had a famous guest with us on the camping… danny zapeda was showing of his bug in and inch pincher and empi memorablia all weekend long. we could not resist to buy some of the good stuff !

detailed t34. there was one car that came out the bunch of type 34s that was there… a 1500 S type 34, however it didn’t had a red interior, i could cope with that!

i had however the occasion to do some champignon tasting at one of the trade stands in the vw show…

the french vw nationals are allways a bit of a holiday for me. i love sipping wine, eating french cheese and stuff like that! going to the nationals is always a bit of a holiday for me. last year i had a breakdown with my callook beetle, and to re-conquer the path to the french vw show, i decided to drive my beetle again, and to display it on the nostalgia show that laurent “el dub” (see the callook forum) would hold… i did not have a breakdown, but i had however a nassssssty oil leak in one of my pushrod tubes, due to a faulty O ring. i spend whole friday searching for an O ring in the city of blois. no wine degustations, no french sightseeing, no barking of my 48IDAs in the wine fields,… just driving around Blois for an O ring of 1.5cm in diameter. “sorry sir, we are only open at 2pm” was a sentence i heard several times…
